(Reuters) — Leonid Mikhelson, the chief executive of Russian gas producer Novatek, said on Friday that the company aimed to start the first line of its Arctic LNG 2 project in 2023.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Mikhelson said Novatek would have a better idea by the end of the year of the timeline for the completion of the project's second line.
