Subsea7 Secures Installation Scope on Chevron’s Gorgon Stage 3 Project

Subsea7 has secured a $150–$300 million subsea installation contract from Chevron Australia for the Gorgon Stage 3 development offshore Western Australia. The scope covers deepwater engineering, fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of subsea pipelines and associated infrastructure at water depths of approximately 1,350 meters, with offshore execution planned for 2028.

Subsea 7 has secured a substantial offshore contract from Chevron Australia for subsea installation work on the Gorgon Stage 3 Project, located offshore Western Australia.

The contract scope includes project management, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning of subsea production infrastructure at water depths of approximately 1,350 meters. Work will support the next phase of subsea development at the Gorgon gas field, which underpins long-term LNG supply from the region.

Subsea7 will deploy its DLV2000 heavy-lift and pipelay vessel, enabling deepwater installation of subsea equipment and associated infrastructure. The scope encompasses installation activities critical to flow assurance, system integrity, and long-term operability of the offshore gas development.

Project management and engineering activities will commence immediately from Subsea7’s Perth office, with additional engineering support from the company’s execution centers in Kuala Lumpur and Paris. Offshore installation operations are scheduled to take place in 2028, following completion of fabrication and pre-installation works.

Subsea7 classifies the award as a substantial contract, with an estimated value between $150 million and $300 million. The award builds on Subsea7’s existing execution history with Chevron and reflects continued investment in deepwater subsea infrastructure supporting Australia’s LNG export system.
