Centrica to Supply LNG to Honduras Under 15-Year Deal with Exodus

Centrica Energy signed a 15-year LNG supply deal with Exodus to deliver six cargoes annually to Honduras, marking the country’s first natural gas imports for power generation starting in 2026.

(PGJ) — Centrica Energy has signed a 15-year sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Exodus to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Honduras, marking the nation’s first LNG imports for power generation.

Under the contract, Centrica will deliver about six LNG cargoes per year to Exodus through a ship-to-ship operation at the Floating Storage Unit (FSU) Bilbao Knutsen in Puerto Cortes. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026.

“This agreement reflects Centrica Energy’s commitment to expanding global LNG access through strategic partnerships,” said Arturo Gallego, Global Head of LNG at Centrica Energy. “By leveraging our global reach and operational expertise, we’re proud to support Exodus and Honduras in its journey toward a more sustainable and resilient energy future.”

The imported LNG will fuel the Brassavola Combined Cycle Power Plant, a 150-MW thermal facility currently expanding to 240 MW. The project will establish Honduras’ first natural gas supply chain for power generation, supporting efforts to diversify its energy mix and reduce reliance on oil-fired generation.

The FSU will serve as the main LNG storage hub for a new terminal under construction on Honduras’ Caribbean coast. Once operational, the terminal will enhance the country’s energy security, improve power generation efficiency, and support broader industrial development.
