(P&GJ) — A pipeline explosion ignited a significant fire in eastern Iowa on Feb. 14, according to reporting by WHO 13 News. The incident occurred near Brighton in Washington County, north of the Skunk River, prompting a large emergency response.

As reported by WHO 13, the Washington County Communications Center received calls around 10:51 a.m. on Feb. 14 regarding an explosion and visible flames between 315th and 325th Street. Dispatchers sent multiple fire departments and emergency crews to the scene.

Responders confirmed the blaze was tied to a pipeline. Authorities said no injuries were reported, and crews remained on-site to secure and monitor the area.

An investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway. Officials have not yet released additional details about what triggered the incident, according to WHO 13.
