Esentia, Siemens Energy Partner to Expand Mexico’s Largest Private Gas Pipeline System
Esentia Energy Systems signed a deal with Siemens Energy to expand Mexico’s Wahalajara pipeline network, adding new compression capacity and boosting reliability for natural gas transport.
(P&GJ) — Mexican pipeline operator Esentia Energy Systems has signed an exclusive collaboration agreement with Siemens Energy to support the expansion of its natural gas transportation network, Esentia announced in April 2025.
The deal covers the supply of new gas turbine–driven compression equipment, technological upgrades, and technical support for Esentia’s compressor stations. Siemens will also standardize station configurations and provide long-term maintenance to boost system reliability.
Esentia operates the Wahalajara System, Mexico’s largest private interconnected pipeline network, spanning 2,144 km (1,332 miles) from the Waha hub in Texas to Guadalajara. The system includes six pipelines and five compressor stations.
“Siemens Energy has been a key partner since 2016, helping us build reliable and efficient operations,” Esentia said. The company has already deployed 11 Siemens turbines and compressors across four stations.
According to Esentia, the expanded infrastructure will strengthen gas supply security, reduce bottlenecks, and improve service to industrial and power generation customers across Mexico.
