Redtail, Pacolet Milliken Form RNG Joint Venture with Kentucky Project Acquisition

Redtail Renewables and Pacolet Milliken launched RPM Holdings, a joint venture focused on renewable natural gas. The venture begins with a Kentucky landfill project set to produce 500,000 MMBtu annually and includes a second site in New York.

(P&GJ) — Redtail Renewables and Pacolet Milliken have launched a joint venture, RPM Holdings, focused on renewable natural gas (RNG) development, starting with the acquisition of a project near Owensboro, Kentucky.

The Owensboro facility, located at the West Daviess County landfill, is expected to be fully operational by year-end. Once online, the project will capture landfill gas and convert it into RNG, generating up to 500,000 MMBtu annually under a long-term commercial offtake agreement.

“This partnership marks an important step in scaling our RNG portfolio, and we look forward to working with the experienced team at Redtail,” said Lance Jordan, Chief Investment Officer of Pacolet Power & Infrastructure.

The joint venture is also planning a second project, expected to break ground later this year, and has acquired a separate development at the Oneida-Herkimer Regional Landfill in Boonville, New York.

“We are excited to launch RPM with Pacolet Milliken and begin our partnership with projects already underway,” said Casey Holsapple, CEO of Redtail Renewables. “Our combined expertise in renewable energy and operations will create a platform for future growth focused on mitigating methane emissions from landfills.”

Redtail, headquartered in Indianapolis, specializes in RNG projects that cut greenhouse gas emissions and generate long-term environmental and economic benefits. The company is backed by equity commitments from Inyarek Partners.
