Saipem Wins $500 Million Aramco Contract for 48-Inch Safaniya Offshore Pipeline
Saipem has secured a $500 million Aramco contract to install a 48-inch trunkline spanning 40 miles offshore and 7 miles onshore in Saudi Arabia’s Safaniya oil field.
(P&GJ) — Saipem has been awarded a new offshore contract from Aramco valued at approximately $500 million under an existing long-term agreement.
The scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of a 48-inch trunkline in the Safaniya oil field offshore Saudi Arabia. The project covers about 65 km (40 miles) offshore and 12 km (7 miles) onshore, along with associated subsea facilities.
Safaniya is one of the world’s largest offshore oil fields.
Offshore construction will be carried out by Saipem’s vessels currently operating in the region, while fabrication will take place at the company’s Saudi yard in Dammam.
The award adds to Saipem’s ongoing offshore pipeline and infrastructure work in the Kingdom and expands its execution backlog under its long-term framework agreement with Aramco.
Project activities are expected to be executed in line with Saudi Arabia’s industrial localization strategy while supporting the continued development of offshore oil infrastructure in the region.
