Neogenyx Delivers First ISCC-Certified RNG Volumes to Europe

Neogenyx Fuels has completed its first delivery of ISCC-certified renewable natural gas into Europe, opening access to international compliance markets and expanding opportunities for U.S.-produced RNG.

(P&GJ) — Neogenyx Fuels has completed its first delivery of International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC)-certified renewable natural gas (RNG) into European compliance markets, marking a new outlet for U.S.-produced landfill gas-derived fuel.

Renewable natural gas (RNG) infrastructure supporting the production and delivery of low-carbon fuels, part of the expanding platform enabling access to global energy markets.

The transaction involved RNG produced at one of the company's facilities and delivered under the ISCC mass-balance certification framework, which is used to verify sustainability and traceability requirements for fuels sold into European markets. The facility received its certification earlier this year.

Neogenyx said four certified RNG projects in its portfolio are capable of producing more than 4.2 million MMBtu annually, providing the company with additional flexibility to market low-carbon fuel domestically and abroad.

The export was supported by U.S. Energy, an ISCC-certified trader that helped facilitate the movement of certified RNG into Europe. The companies said the transaction establishes a commercial pathway linking U.S. RNG production with growing demand for lower-carbon fuels in international markets.

"This marks our first delivery of RNG from a Republic Services landfill facility into European markets and demonstrates the commercial opportunities emerging for certified renewable fuels," Neogenyx CEO Michael Bakas said in a statement.

Republic Services, which partners with Neogenyx on RNG development projects, said expanding access to international markets supports continued investment in landfill gas capture and renewable fuel production.

The transaction highlights a growing trend among RNG producers seeking certification pathways that allow access to international compliance markets, where demand for low-carbon fuels continues to increase.
