Natural Gas Pipeline Proposed for Eastern ND, Western MN

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck-based energy company says it wants to build a roughly 38-mile pipeline to deliver natural gas supply to eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota.

WBI Energy Inc. said Monday that the expansion would cost an estimated $50 million.

The company, a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group Inc., says the project would connect a pipeline near Felton, Minnesota, to WBI Energy’s pipeline near Mapleton, North Dakota.

David Goodin is president and CEO of MDU Resources. Goodin says the project would provide a source of natural gas to fuel industrial and commercial growth in the area.

North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple expects benefits from the expansion.
