FERC: Midla-Natchez Pipeline Can Be Placed in Service
FERC says American Midstream can place the Midla-Natchez pipeline construction project in service.
American Midstream, LLC’s has received approval from FERC to place into service the Midla-Natchez Pipeline in Franklin, Catahoula, and Concordia Parishes, Louisiana and Adams County, Mississippi.
The Midla-Natchez Pipeline extends roughly 52 miles from Winnsboro, Louisiana, to Natchez, Mississippi and replaces the 89-year-old Midla pipeline system. The project has three anchor shippers:
- Atmos Energy Corp., serving the cities of Ferriday, Gilbert and Wisner, LA, and the city of Natchez, MS
- The Louisiana Municipal Gas Authority, serving the municipal gas systems of Clayton, Jonesville, Sicily Island and Vidalia, LA;
- BASF Corp., which has an industrial facility near Vidalia
Approximately 80 percent of the pipeline was constructed on or along existing rights-of-way.
