Texas-Mexico Pipeline Can Begin Service

FERC says Howard Energy Partners and Grupo Clisa can commence service on the Impulsora pipeline construction project.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved Howard Energy Partners and Grupo Clisa’s request to place the Impulsora Crossing Project, which consists of 17 miles of 36-inch diameter pipeline at the international boundary between the United States in Webb County, Texas and México in the vicinity of Colombia, State of Nuevo León, into service.

According to FERC’s Rich McGuire, rehabilitation and stabilization of the construction work areas are proceeding satisfactorily.

The Impulsora Crossing Project is part of the Nueva Era Pipeline Project, a 190-mile natural gas pipeline system currently under construction that, once completed, will transport 504,000 MMbtu of natural gas per day of South Texas natural gas to Monterrey, Mexico power plants.
