Statoil to Award Norwegian Pipeline Construction Contracts
Statoil to award contracts to Subsea 7 and Ocean Installer for pipeline construction projects in Norway.
Statoil today announced it will award a pipelaying contract to Subsea 7 and a marine operations contract to Ocean Installer as part of the company’s Askeladd gas field in Norway.
Under the terms of the contracts, Subsea 7 will lay a 44-kilometer, 20-inch pipeline that will tie Askeladd to the Snøhvit field, while Ocean Installer will install a 42-kilometer-long umbilical, 35-kilometer-long MEG (monoethylene glycol) pipeline.
Construction activities are expected to begin immediately, with Subsea 7’s pipeline to be installed in the summer of 2019, and Ocean Installer’s in 2020.
