Baker Hughes Signs Long-Term Service Deal with bp for Indonesia’s Tangguh LNG
Baker Hughes has signed a 90-month service deal with bp to maintain turbomachinery at Indonesia’s Tangguh LNG plant, extending a partnership that began in 2009.
(P&GJ) — Baker Hughes has signed a long-term service agreement with bp to support operations at the Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Papua Barat, Indonesia.
The 90-month contract covers spare parts, repair services, and engineering support for turbomachinery across the facility’s three LNG trains. Equipment covered includes heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines and compressors.
Baker Hughes has worked with bp at Tangguh since 2009, most recently supplying power and compression systems for the project’s UCC expansion.
“This long-term service agreement with bp for Tangguh LNG is a testament to our continued partnership and commitment to progressing energy development in Indonesia,” said Tiffany Pitts, vice president of Gas Technology Services at Baker Hughes. “Our advanced technology and expertise will help ensure the optimal performance of the Tangguh facility, which is crucial for meeting the region's energy demands.”
The Tangguh facility is one of Indonesia’s key LNG export projects, supplying the Asia-Pacific region. Baker Hughes is working with PT Imeco Inter Sarana as its local consortium partner to meet Indonesian content requirements.
The company said the agreement reflects its focus on asset management services for LNG and follows its expansion of service capabilities in Asia Pacific.
