Kinder Morgan Launches Binding Open Season for Texas-to-Arizona Pipeline Expansion

Kinder Morgan has launched a binding open season to expand its East Line pipeline from El Paso, Texas, to Tucson, Arizona, adding up to 3,250 barrels per day of refined products and diesel export capacity.

(P&GJ) — SFPP, L.P., a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan, Inc., has opened a binding open season to solicit shipper commitments for a proposed expansion of its East Line system, which runs from El Paso, Texas, to Tucson, Arizona.

The open season began August 18 and will close September 19, 2025, the company said. The project could add up to 3,250 barrels per day (gasoline equivalent) of incremental capacity to move diesel eligible for export to Mexico as well as gasoline, jet fuel, and domestic diesel between El Paso and Tucson.

“The expansion is estimated to be operational on or before April 1, 2026,” SFPP said. The total capacity available will depend on the level of shipper interest during the open season. Participants can obtain firm service by making take-or-pay commitments.

Additional details and related documents are available to interested shippers following the execution of a confidentiality agreement, the company said.
