Centuri Wins Midwest Pipeline Replacement Project Under PHMSA Gas Mega Rule

Centuri has secured a major Midwest pipeline replacement project tied to PHMSA’s Gas Mega Rule, part of nearly $400 million in new contracts across the U.S.

(P&GJ) — Centuri Holdings Inc. has secured a major pipeline replacement contract in the U.S. Midwest tied to federal compliance requirements under the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) Gas Mega Rule.

The award, part of nearly $400 million in new commercial contracts, involves a significant steel pipe replacement project for an existing customer. The project is directly linked to PHMSA’s safety mandate requiring operators to modernize and upgrade aging infrastructure.

“This award reflects our customers’ confidence in Centuri’s ability to execute large-scale replacement programs that support regulatory compliance and enhance system safety,” said Centuri President and CEO Christian Brown.

While the company also announced additional contracts across New England and the clean energy sector, the Midwest pipeline replacement highlights how federal safety regulations are driving new infrastructure activity in the natural gas sector.
