Burckhardt Wins Compressor Orders for LNG Terminals in Thailand, Taiwan
Burckhardt Compression has secured multiple orders to supply boil-off gas compressor systems for LNG terminals in Thailand and Taiwan, supporting gas handling and operational efficiency.
(P&GJ) — Burckhardt Compression has secured multiple contracts to supply compressor systems for LNG terminals in Thailand and Taiwan, supporting gas handling operations at key import and storage facilities.
The orders include a total of eight compressor units designed for boil-off gas (BOG) service, along with an additional unit for send-out operations. The equipment will be used to manage gas generated during LNG storage and regasification processes.
LNG terminals rely on compression systems to handle boil-off gas produced under cryogenic storage conditions, helping maintain system pressure and reduce product losses. The new installations are intended to improve operational efficiency and support flexible terminal performance as demand fluctuates.
The company said its oil-free compressor technology is designed to reduce emissions and maintenance requirements while supporting continuous operation in LNG environments.
Andreas Brautsch, president of Burckhardt’s systems division, said the orders reflect ongoing investment in LNG infrastructure across the region.
“These projects highlight continued demand for reliable LNG terminal operations and efficient gas handling systems,” Brautsch said.
The awards come as countries across Asia-Pacific expand LNG import capacity to meet growing energy demand and enhance supply security.
