Baker Hughes Wins CP2 LNG Expansion Technology Contract
Baker Hughes will supply liquefaction technology for Venture Global's CP2 LNG expansion project in Louisiana, doubling the facility's liquefaction capacity to 12 modular trains under the companies' long-term partnership.
(P&GJ) — Baker Hughes has been awarded a contract to supply liquefaction technology for Venture Global's CP2 LNG expansion project in Louisiana, expanding the companies' long-standing partnership on U.S. LNG developments.
The order, booked during the second quarter, includes equipment for six additional liquefaction blocks, bringing the CP2 LNG project to a total of 12 liquefaction modules.
Each liquefaction block will consist of two single mixed-refrigerant (SMR) liquefaction modules and associated compression trains featuring Baker Hughes' centrifugal compressor technology. The scope also includes cold boxes, air coolers and integrated control systems.
The award expands an existing master equipment supply agreement between the two companies. Baker Hughes already supplies LNG systems for Venture Global's Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG facilities and supports more than 100 MMtpy of existing and planned production capacity across Venture Global's portfolio.
Venture Global CEO Mike Sabel said the contract extends a long-standing relationship between the two companies.
"Baker Hughes has been a trusted partner across our LNG developments, and we are pleased to extend this collaboration as we advance the next phase of CP2," Sabel said.
Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said the project will support additional U.S. LNG supply for global markets.
