Emerson Redesigns DeltaV SaaS SCADA Mobile App for Field Operations

Emerson has redesigned its DeltaV SaaS SCADA mobile app, adding new tools to help operators and technicians monitor alarms, plan routes and manage operations from the field.

(P&GJ) — Emerson has redesigned the mobile application for its DeltaV™ SaaS supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platform, adding new features aimed at improving visibility and control for operators and technicians working in the field.

The new app will empower operators and technicians to do more in the field from their mobile devices, helping teams in critical industries like oil and gas, specialty chemical and others achieve more efficient, optimized operations.

The updated app is designed to support mobile-first workflows increasingly used across oil and gas, chemicals and other process industries. Emerson said the redesign gives users greater flexibility to monitor operations, input data and respond to alarms without relying on laptops or fixed workstations.

A key change is a fully rebuilt user interface that allows users to customize reports and compare data across multiple sensors and locations. The app also delivers alarms via push notifications, providing faster awareness of operational issues.

New route-planning tools allow operators and technicians to create and adjust inspection routes directly from mobile devices. Users can view stops that are in alarm and send location details to mapping applications for navigation in the field.

“Today, many operators and technicians are using mobile devices as their primary interface to their SCADA systems,” said Dawn Marruchella, vice president of Emerson’s Guardian software and solutions business. “We’ve redesigned the DeltaV SaaS SCADA mobile app from the ground up with this in mind —delivering a more seamless, intuitive way for users to access all the key information they need, in the format they desire, from anywhere across their plant, facility, or enterprise.”

Emerson said additional widgets in the app allow users to quickly review alarm totals by location and compare production volumes, supporting faster operational decision-making.
